Hello World, I’m April Oberst! I’m a New York City based Creative Director and designer with a focus in campaign, packaging, and digital content.

In my previous role at Coty, a global beauty company making cosmetic, skin, & fragrance brands, I worked to positively disrupt projects to create a radically inclusive world of beauty. In this role I had the opportunity to partner with many truly amazing brands: Marc Jacobs, Davidoff, Adidas, Calvin Klein, Covergirl, Kylie Cosmetics, Philosophy, and many more.

Before I began directing, I was a designer at Design Packaging Inc. I joined the creative agency in 2016 and led the visual design and structural engineering for several luxury retail packaging clients including Coach, Lily Pulitzer, Selfridges, Karl Lagerfeld, Michael Kors, Hyatt Hotels, and Google. I also led startup product packaging consulting for Birchbox, Madison Reed, Ellison Eyewear, Biaggi Luggage, The Dieline Awards, and PXG before moving to Coty.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest (PNW) and Arizona, through rain and sunshine I was pretty much always building or creating something. So it’s no surprise I ended up studying Graphic Design at Arizona State University. While working at Coty I decided to further explore design thinking by attending the Global Strategic Design and Management graduate program at Parsons, The New School, graduating this past May. With Parsons School of Design, I have consulted for The United Nations and The World Expo 2020 Dubai Transition Unit to design creative solutions around sustainability and the future of smart cities.

In my spare time I teach and facilitate workshops around typography and design thinking. I am inspired by the act of designing for positive impact for people and planet through creative that tells a story.

When I'm not designing, I'm probably working out, traveling, or collaborating on a passion project.
