About the project
Meet Phil, the rat — designed specifically for Philosophy’s 2020 Chinese New Year (CNY) packaging and collateral campaign. The selected concept featured a rat, the year’s Chinese New Year zodiac sign, who we fondly named Phil, frolicking in metallic gold foils on a traditional CNY red background.
My selected concept featured an abundant floral illustration with the 2020 CNY Zodiac Rat incorporated cohesively as a hidden element. The rat was to be illustrated in different positions interacting with the ingredients with humanistic characteristics. My concept was illustrated by Aurore Danielou to highlight the product ingredients and CNY animal. The concept design was adapted across all packaging and digital collateral creative packshots by the Philosophy design team.
